Vivek Oberoi’s Movies That Got Shelved.


Vivek Oberoi made his Bollywood debut in 2002 with the Ram Gopal Varma’s crime drama Company.

The movie was appreciated by fans as well as critics. Bollywood analytics considered him one of the most promising future stars of the Bollywood industry.

He has made a great first year in Bollywood with three totally different movies.

He played gangster Chandrakant Nagre in Company, mysterious Arvind Chauhan in Road, and Aaditya in the romantic musical movie Saathiya.

At the peak of his career, every famous director and production house wanted to work with him.

Within a year, he became a popular celebrity in the industry. However, his fight with actor Salman Khan remained one of the big highlights of his career.

After this controversy, he stopped getting work from the industry and left to do only slapstick comedies or character roles.

While the actor has made a name for himself with movies like Yuva, Saathiya, Omkara, Shootout at Lokhandwala, Rakta Charitra, and Masti series, there are also a few good projects that never hit the theater.

1. Perfect

There is no doubt that Ram Gopal Varma has given a perfect career start by casting Vivek Oberoi in the movie Company along with Ajay Devgn.

Later, Vivek Oberoi featured in some of the most critically acclaimed movies of Ram Gopal Varma that include the Rakta Charitra series and Darna Mana Hai.

Little do you know that Ram Gopal Varma has announced a movie titled Perfect in 2004.

The movie went into production with the ensemble cast of Vivek Oberoi, Urmila Matondkar, Kim Sharma, and Nirmal Pandey.

However, the movie was shelved due to financial problems.

2. Bloody Paki

In the early 2000s, Vivek Oberoi was very popular. A famous director from South Industry also directed a movie titled Yuva in Bollywood featuring Abhishek Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, and Vivek Oberoi in the lead role.

Later, Mani Ratnam decided to produce a movie titled ‘Bloody Paki’ with Vivek Oberoi in the lead role.

The director and actress of the movie Bloody Paki was Shaad Ali and Chitrangda Singh respectively.

The movie was supposed to hit theatre in 2010.

It was also rumored that Genelia Dsouza had replaced Chitrangda Singh in the movie.

However, the movie was shelved due to continuous delays.

3. Timbaktoo

In the year 2004, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Vivek Oberoi were offered another movie together titled ‘Timbaktoo’.

It was considered one of the dream projects for the producer-director Vishal Bhardwaj.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Vivek Oberoi were famous in the industry for their controversial love affair.

They featured in the movie together titled ‘Kyun Ho Gaya Na?’ and the movie got a mixed response from fans and critics.

Later, Vishal Bhardwaj dropped the idea to make the movie as he was not satisfied with the shooting script, and both the lead didn’t want to work together in the movie as well.

4. Rock

As per Google facts, Ram Gopal Varma was all set to direct a musical drama movie titled Rock in 2002.

He had also approached Vivek Oberoi and famous actress Raveena Tandon to play the lead role.

However, producers don’t understand the vision of the director for the musical drama and due to creative differences, the movie was shelved.

It certainly didn’t affect Vivek’s acting career as Vivek made a long-lasting impression on the audience with his debut movie Company.

After the success of the movie, Vivek started getting many offers from the industry and delivered many hit films.

Coincidently, his debut movie was also directed by Ram Gopal Varma.

5. Baraat

Fans loved the chemistry of Vivek Oberoi and Kareena Kapoor in the movie Yuva which was directed by famous Indian director Mani Ratnam.

Later, the director Sachin Bajaj announced a movie titled Baraat with Vivek and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead role.

Director Sachin Bajaj rose to fame after directing the mythological drama movie Naksha.

Sources revealed that Milap Zaveri and Tushar Hiranandani were writing the script of the movie.

The movie was supposed to release in 2004 but shelved for unknown reasons.

Vivek Oberoi has a wonderful journey in Bollywood. He has made many fictional characters famous.

He mesmerized everyone with the acting range he possesses as he played Maya Bhai in Shootout at Lokhandwala and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his biopic.
