Singham. Blockbuster Movies Rejected By Ajay Devgn.

0

Ajay Devgn is one of the A-list actors working in the industry. He has done many hit films in recent years.

Ajay Devgn also directed a few movies in Bollywood. In addition to this, he runs a film production house Ajay Devgn Ffilms and produced dozens of movies under his banner.

Ajay Devgn is already a star but his star value would be somewhere else if he said yes to these blockbuster movies in his career.

Here, we have created a list of Bollywood Movies that were first offered to Ajay Devgn but Ajay decided not to be a part of these movies due to some reasons.

Darr

Darr movie was a blockbuster hit and it changed the career of fresh face Shah Rukh Khan in the industry.

However, the trivia is that the role of Rahul in Darr was offered to many actors before Shah Rukh Khan said yes to the project.

It has been confirmed by many actors that they were offered the role but they decided not to play the antagonist in the movie.

The list includes Aamir Khan, Rahul Roy, and Ajay Devgn who turned down the project because he didn’t felt that Rahul’s character is any good.

In Ajay’s case, he was busy shooting his movies in Ooty and never responded to Yash Chopra who later cast Shah Rukh Khan in the movie.

Karan Arjun

Karan Arjun was another blockbuster which was offered to Ajay Devgn first. According to sources, the original cast for Karan Johar was Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan in the lead roles.

Ajay Devgn rejected the movie because of creative differences.

In an interview, Rakesh Roshan revealed, “The original choice of actors was Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn. But they were not happy with their respective parts and wanted to switch.

So Shah Rukh wanted to play Karan while Ajay desired to essay Arjun. However, I refused to do so.

Hence, they both backed out of the film. Basically, they were not convinced with the story and the reincarnation element. Not just them, most people I narrated the story to were not convinced.”

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

While Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s pair is one of the hit pairs on screen, there is no doubt about the on-screen chemistry of real-life couple Ajay Devgn and Kajol too.

They have done a few movies together and this is the reason that he was offered the lead role in the movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai opposite Kajol and Rani Mukherji.

Ajay Devgn turned down Karan Johar’s project because of not having dates. Later, the movie became a huge success.

Bajirao Mastani

It is clear that Bajirao Mastani is the dream project of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and he wanted to make the movie long ago with the original cast of Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Later, it was also rumored that the role of Bajirao was offered to Ajay Devgn as well and he didn’t sign the project because of dates issues.

Indian 2

Ajay Devgn was approached to play a negative role in Kamal Haasan’s starrer Indian 2.

Ajay Devgn turned down the offer but he cleared the reason in an interview saying, “I would have loved to do Shankar’s movie (Indian 2), but I didn’t have the dates. He wanted to shoot the movie right now. [But] I am stuck with Taanaji.”

On playing negative characters, he said, “For an artist, there are no shades of grey, black or white—the more layers you have in a role, the better it is.”

“I loved doing movies like Khakee (2004) and Company (2002) where my negative characters were appreciated. I would love to play such roles again.

[Having said that], I cannot say if it [the part in Indian 2] was grey or not because I am not doing it now, it’s somebody else’s role.” he added.

Luv Ranjan’s Untitled Movie

It was announced that Luv Ranjan is working again with Ajay Devgn and the movie also has Ranbir Kapoor in a prominent role. However, it is reported that Ajay Devgn quit the film and now Luv Ranjan has shelved the movie.

The reason that came out is the creative differences and both actors and directors thought it is better to not take the discussion ahead anymore.

While Ajay Devgn walked out of the project, director Luv Ranjan decided to focus on other movies and keep this film on the backburner.
