One of the glorious genres in Bollywood is the period drama and directors are very crazy about making their movie larger than life with attention to details and heavy beautiful costumes.

Apart from period drama films that are also known as costume drama films, there were many other movies in which costumes are a way heavier and actors used to don that to play the part.

Today we have created a list of those heavy costumes that actors had to wear for a scene. These costumes have already created a benchmark because of their weight.

1.  Sanjay Dutt wore armor weighing 35 kgs!

In the recently released period drama movie, we have seen Sanjay Dutt wrapped in heavy battle armor and costumes. Though the movie required him to get such a look as he was playing the role of Afgan King Ahmad Shah Durrani.

It is reported that the armor weight a whopping 35 kgs. In addition to this, he has also set up a make-shift gym for himself in the shooting location.

Sanjay Dutt is now included in the list of actors and actresses who donned the heaviest outfit for the movie.

2. Amitabh Bachchan majestic Thugs Of Hindostan costume weighed over 20 kgs!

Amitabh Bachchan was seen playing the warrior in Thugs Of Hindostan. In most of the scenes, he was seen wearing armor, and leather jackets soaked in water.

It was reported that these costumes took a toll on the health of the actor. Amitabh Bachchan got sick as he got pain in the neck and back because of armor.

3. Deepika Padukone’s lehengas in Padmaavat weighed 30 kgs!

Little you know about the fact that 400 kg of gold were used to create the Lenghaha of 30 kg for Rani Padmaavati.

It was reported that Deepika used to shoot for 12-14 hours about 100 days in those heavy costumes. It took 200 craftsmen, 600 days of hard work, and 400 kg of gold to create that dress.

4. Sridevi has worn a 25 kg dress in her movie Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja

There a song sequence in the movie “Roop ki Rani Choron Ka Raja” in which she wore a costume that weighed 25 kg.

5. Madhuri danced in Devdas wearing a costume of 30 kgs

When she performed Kathak for a song sequence in Devdas, she has to wear the outfit weighing 30 kgs.

6. Amitabh Bachchan’s Shahenshah costume weighed 14 kilos

In the early days of his career, Big B has done a movie where the character was mysterious and wear arm shield made up of iron.

Shahanshah was the movie where the hero has to wear a certain costume and that armor weighed 14 kilos.

7. Vivek Oberai wore 28 kgs to become the supervillain in Krrish 3

Vivek Oberai was cast to play the supervillain in Krrish 3. His armor was made up of iron and other heavy metals.

It was reported that the armor was weighed around 28 kgs.

8. Deepika’s ghagra was of 30 kgs in Goliyon Ki Raas Leela: Ram Leela

Deepika Padukone was the part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s costume drama Ram Leela. In a scene, she wore a ghagra that was weighted 30 kgs.
