1. Poster Boys – Poster Boys

Poster Boys is the movie about 3 people whose posters are published and used for the hoardings of a vasectomy advertisement. The movie is a remake of the 2014 Marathi film with the same name.

The film was directed by Shreyas Talpade and featured Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and Shreyas Talpade in the lead role.

2. Golmaal Returns – Pheka Pheki

Golmaal franchise is one of the most popular Hindi movie series from Rohit Shetty. Most of the Shetty’s movies are remake from regional cinema. However, Golmaal Returns is the remake of the 1989 Marathi movie Pheka Pheki.

The story of the movie revolves around a man who lies around to avoid confrontation with his suspicious wife. The created web of lies leads to confusion and chaos of mistaken identities.

3. Bhagam Bhag – Bhindast

The whole movie was not a remake of any movie, but it can be said that Bhagam Bhag was heavily inspired by a super serious thriller Marathi movie title Bhindast. The climatic twist of both the movie was the same, but Bhagam Bhag has star power like Akshay Kumar.

The Marathi movie Bhindast starred Sharvari Jamenis and Reema Laagoo and the story revolved around a prank that went wrong.

4. Mumbai Delhi Mumbai – Mumbai Pune Mumbai

Before you get fascinated by the concept of Mumbai Delhi Mumbai, rethink as the movie is the remake of Marathi movie ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai’ that starred Mukta Barve and Swapnil Joshi.

5. Heyy Babyy – Balache Baap Bramhachari

The directorial debut of Sajid Khan ‘Heyy Babyy’ was heavily inspired by the concept of Marathi movie ‘Balache Baap Bramhachari’.

In the Marathi movie, two bachelors find a baby on their doorstep.

6. Tarzan- The Wonder Car – Ek Gaadi Baki Anadi

In the Marathi movie ‘EK Gaadi Baki Anadi’, an honest man is killed before he could expose his corrupt partners, and the recently purchased car gets possessed who now revenges the killers.

The plot is very similar to Bollywood Blockbuster ‘Tarzan – The Wonder Car’.

7. Paying Guest – Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi

The Bollywood comedy-drama ‘Paying Guest’ heavily inspired by the Marathi movie ‘Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi.’

It can be said that the Paying guest is the remake of Marathi film, but there are speculations that the Marathi version of paying guest was a copy of Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s movie ‘Biwi Aur Makaan’.

8. Dum Laga Ke Haisha – Agadbam

Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Dum Laga Ke Haisha were praised by fans as well as critics.

Little you know that the movie was the remake of Marathi movie ‘Agadbam’.

10. Kyo Kii… Main Jhuth Nahi Bolta – Dhagad Dhinga

Govinda starrer Kyo Kii… Mai Jhuth Nahi Bolta was the remake of Marathi movie Dhagad Dhinga.

But the Marathi Movie Dhagad Dhinga was also inspired by the Hollywood movie Liar Liar featuring Jim Carrey in the lead role.

11. Dhadak – Sairat

One of the most celebrated Marathi film Sairat was remade in Bollywood with two newcomers Jhanvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar.

The original movie starred Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thasor in the lead role. The movie Dhadak is set in Rajasthan.

Moreover, the movie also made a Hindi remake of one of the popular song Zingat. The movie is directed by Shashank Khaitan.
