Filmfare is a very prestigious award and it is a 62-year-old organization. Many times we’ve seen some celebrities getting nominated for films that weren’t that good on the box-office. But still, somehow they reach the nominations and win them too. Instead, the one who’s worthy, the other one wins and gets away with the award. This way the talent gets suppressed in this film industry.
So here we present you with a list of celebrities who won the Filmfare Award by luck.
1. Fardeen Khan
In the year 1998, Fardeen Khan did a film named “Prem Agan”. This film was a major flop but still, Fardeen Khan managed to reach the nominations and he actually won that award even after a major flop. It is said that it was because of his father Feroz Khan’s influence.
2. Rani Mukherjee
Rani Mukherjee won the best supporting actress award for “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” after being nominated with Preity Zinta, Urmila, and Shephali Shah who worked in Satya. Viewers thought it to be a bit unfair as the other actresses did extremely well while her role in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was limited.
Kajol won Filmfare for Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham which might be a popular film but fans were upset as she won it against Tabu who did an amazing job with her character in the film “Chandini Bar”. It was speculated that Karan Johar was behind her win in this.
4. Kareena Kapoor
Kareena Kapoor was having a hard time back then as she gave almost 8-9 flops in a row. But being a Kapoor girl, she managed to win the Best Actress Critics award in front of the one and only Aishwarya Rai who gave a mind-blowing performance in “Raincoat”.
5. Howard Rosemeyer
He won the award as the best choreographer for his song “Kaisi Paheli” instead of Vaibhavi Merchant who choreographed “Kajra Re”. The step of Kajra Re is still that famous as it was back then.
6. Sooraj Pancholi
It was a big blunder for the viewers when they saw Sooraj Pancholi win the best debut actor award for “Hero” against Vicky Kaushal who did “Masaan”. The audience clearly saw biased behavior.
7. Ayushmann Khurrana
Ayushmann Khurrana is indeed an amazing actor and a singer too. But when he won a Filmfare for “Paani Da Rang” in front of Sonu Nigam’s “Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin”, viewers felt it was quite unfair.
8. Kanika Kapoor
Kanika Kapoor’s Chittiyan Kalaiyan was a big hit and she won awards for it. She also won the Filmfare award for “Baby Doll” against Shreya Ghoshal’s “Manwa Laage” which had a better meaning to it.
9. Ganesh Acharya
Well, Ganesh Acharya is an amazing choreographer but his award for “Beddi” which he won wasn’t as good as Vaibhavi Merchant’s Crazzy Kia Re and Umrao Jaan’s Salaam song. It’s sad that Vaibhavi lost it again.
10. Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan winning an award for “Dangal” is well deserving and we loved it. But according to critics, it was a bit of a biased decision because they loved Randeep Hooda’s performance more in “Sarabjit”.
