Siddhant Chaturvedi was born on 29 April 1993 and is an Indian actor. The young actor achieved international attention and much acclaim in the year 2019 when he appeared in Gully Boy, a Hindi -language musical drama directed by legendary Bollywood director Zoya Akhtar.
The coming-of-age story about Murad Ahmed (played by Ranveer Singh), a would-be rapper trying to escape the slums of Mumbai, sees Chaturvedi take the role of MC Sher, a local rapper who takes on a mentoring role to the younger boy.
Since its release in February, Gully Boy has become the highest-grossing Bollywood film overseas, cementing Chaturvedi’s status on an international level and securing him a very bright future in the process.

Siddhant Chaturvedi is an Indian actor born in Ballia (Uttar Pradesh) to a chartered accountant father and mother a homemaker. At the age of 5, Siddhanth along with his family moved to Mumbai.
Siddhant completed his secondary education from Gokuldham High School. He graduated from the Bhargav Institute of Management and completed his studies from Mithibai College. During his college days, Siddhanth was involved in theater.
When Siddhanth Chaturvedi was in college, he was inclined to model as well and won the ‘Clean & Clear Bombay Times Fresh Face 2012’ title after which he decided to take up modeling as his career.
He has started his career with a comedy web series Life Sahi Hai (2016) in 2016. But he got the recognition with Amazon prime’s Indian web-series Inside Edge (2017).
After this, Siddhant did his silver screen debut with Gully Boy (2019). Zoya Akhtar ‘s direction Gully Boy is a musical drama film starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt where Siddhant Chaturvedi played the role of a street rapper named M.C Sher.
Not only the movie, but his acting was critically acclaimed. Gully Boy has been selected as India’s official entry to the 92nd Academy Awards in the Best International Category.
Siddhant is trained in martial arts and western-classical dance who is also an avid dog lover.
Chartered accountant vs Bollywood star? After completing his primary education at Mithibai College, 26-year-old Chaturvedi decided to follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming a chartered accountant, all the while continuing to perform in local theatre.
After struggling to juggle the demands of his studies with his passion for acting, Chaturvedi eventually decided he’d need to decide between one or the other. Fortunately for cinema-goers (although slightly less fortunate for accountancy), he chose acting.
After deciding to abandon charted accountancy for acting, Chaturvedi started doing the rounds at auditions. Given his stellar performance in Gully Boy, you’d have expected him to have had no problem in finding work.
In fact, Chaturvedi struggled to crack the industry, and it would take several years of rejections before he finally found his big opportunity.
“I struggled for six years and there were many rejections and low points along the way. I started from the bottom, but I always had this raging ambition to go out there and prove myself with that one perfect opportunity.”
As part of his audition, the actor performed an impromptu rap based on his struggle, which ultimately bagged him the role of MC Sher.
Siddhant started listening to Hip-Hop music just 20 days before his first shot for ‘Gully Boy’. He otherwise listens to Kishore Kumar, Mohammad Rafi, Ghazals and Rock Music.
The actor is well versed in Hindi and often pens down poems.

When asked about his views about the story of the movie and how he had connected to it, he shared that he enjoyed every bit of the film narration and was all head over heels for Safeena’s character.
He further added, such a raw and crazy character could have been done so smoothly by none other than Alia Bhatt.
He said, “When I read the script, the very first time I met Zoya I was like, ‘Safeena is amazing yaar.’ The character, I mean, and I could totally see Alia Bhatt do it.
When I saw her play it, I was blown away. She is fantastic. She is my favorite character in the film. The grace with which Alia showed anger, Kamaal hai.”
Not just that, when asked if he could relate to Safeena’s character, he laughed off and added, “Yes, I have had such relationships.
If you have been in a relationship with a person since childhood and love him so much, ho jata hai Kabhi Kabhi.”
He has also featured in a series of TV commercials, including an international advertisement campaign for Coca-Cola.
Recently, he has lent his voice in the Hindi version of Men in Black: International (2019). Siddhant Chaturvedi’s upcoming Hindi projects are Bunty Aur Babli 2 and Shakun Batra untitled movie along with Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday.
The actor also admitted being in a relationship in an interview however, the name still remains a mystery.
Siddhant Chaturvedi also posted a picture of his first-ever performance as a child. In the picture, he is captured in a candid shot while he is dancing.
In his caption, he wrote about his childhood. He mentioned that since his childhood, he has been anxious about winning every battle in his life. He also explained about the picture and said that the performance was from a birthday party on the song Ek Pal Ka Jeena.
The actor added that while other kids were eyeing up on the snacks, he was happy going home with a lot of praises.
He said that he can understand that she has struggled but a difference is that the struggle of a Starkid starts where the dreams of a newcomer without any film background ends.
He became famous on the internet by asking the words “Jha hamare Sapne pure hote hai, vaha se Inka struggle start hota hai”.
