“Pyaar Dosti hai”- one of the famous dialogues from the movie Kuch Kuch Hota hai, is just not a dialogue, but has become a universal truth! We all believe that friendship is the first step to strengthening a romantic relationship. Right?? It is a friendship that makes someone chose their partner over and over again.
It is believed that relationships that start with a friendship tend to last longer and it is the essence of a romantic relationship. It was not the stardom that attracted their counterparts towards them.
Love just happened when they were still kindergarten kids or teenagers. This could be certainly claimed by the love life of these Bollywood stars who got married to their childhood sweethearts.

1- Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri
Looks like “Pyar Dosti Hai” was not just dialogue for Shah Rukh but he also implied it to real-life!! Many of us might not know the fact that the king of Bollywood, Shah Rukh, first fell for Gauri when he was just 18 years old!
The duo is said to have met in Delhi at a party when she was just 14. Following this, the couple is rumored to have their first date Delhi’s Panchshila Club. Though their journey to marriage was not an easy one and was full of hurdles, despite which the couple finally got married on October 25, 1991.
The couple continues to be one of India’s most discussed and admired Bollywood couples. And we wish them to remain the same in the future as well.
2- Jackie Shroff-Ayesha Shroff
Jackie first met Ayesha when the latter was in school. The couple gradually fell in love and tied the knot in 1987.
3- Zayed Khan-Malaika Parekh
Well, proving the fact that ‘love is friendship’, these two childhood friends finally ended up marrying each other. Zayed and his wife Malaika Parekh have known each other since their high school days.
The couple first met while studying at Kodaikanal International School in Tamil Nadu. In fact, it is reportedly said that Zayed had proposed his wife 4 times! How adorable!! The much-in-love couple got married in 2005.
4- Arijit Singh-Koel Roy
Arijit Singh is among the most talented singers in India, known for his iconic voice and his amazing vocals when it comes to sophistication and pain.
But many of us might not know the most of the details of his personal life since the singer happens to be very coy in nature, and thus, has tried to keep his personal life away from the camera and media. But, we all know that true love cannot be hidden for a long time.
Though, Arjit was initially married to a contestant from a reality show. However, the things got nasty between them and the duo called off their wedding.
Then, he got married to his childhood friend, Koel Roy, at the Tripathi Temple in West Bengal on January 21, 2014, in a hush-hush ceremony where only close ones were invited. The couple is still going strong and giving us major relationship goals!
5- Gul Panag-Rishi Attari
Panag married her long-time boyfriend, an airline pilot, Rishi Attari on 13 March 2011 in a Gurdwara in Chandigarh in a traditional Punjabi Sikh ceremony. They firstly met in boarding school and had been going strong ever since.
Though, the initial plan of the couple was of getting married in a very intimate ceremony in Ladakh but, it didn’t work out, as it was hyped up in the media.
6- Fardeen Khan – Natasha
Floored by his friend since childhood, Fardeen finally proposed Natasha on a flight from London to the US. Well, the stylish proposal was truly an ‘awww moment’ for his lady love.
He actually uttered those three magical words in a Transatlantic flight.
7- Sanjay Khan-Zarine Khan
Looks like this is the one from where it all started! Sanjay first met Zarine when the latter was just 14. The two soon started dating and finally got married in 1966. They have three daughters and a son together.
Out of which, Sussanne Khan and actor Zayed Khan also followed their parent’s steps and married their childhood sweethearts! Interesting, Right??
8- Imran Khan-Avantika Malik
Imran Khan met Avantika Malik when the actor was 19 years old. The couple who tied the knot in 2010 have known each other for 10 years.
Imran and Avantika also spent more than a year together while pursuing their studies in LA. This made their bond even stronger and they are leading a happy life together.
9- Bobby Deol- Tanya
Bobby Deol saw Tanya at an Italian restaurant in Mumbai and it was love at first sight! The actor was so smitten that he tried to call her up for a date. Finally, Tanya agreed and the couple fell in love with each other.

10- Chitrangda Singh-Jyoti Randhawa
Chitrangda and Jyoti’s fathers were in the same regiment of the Indian Army. In fact, Jyoti revealed in an interview, “The first time I saw her was when I had gone to her house; she was in class 8 then and I was in the last year of school”.
However, love blossomed between the two after Chitrangda shifted base to Delhi. Since Jyoti’s father was posted in the same city, they moved there as well. After a five-year-long courtship, the couple tied the knot in 2001.
They even have a son together named Zorawar. However, in 2014, the couple got divorced officially, with primary custody of their son granted to the actress.
11- Jitendra-Shobha Kapoor
Though Jitendra’s stardom bought up the news of his link up with many actresses, but despite those link-ups, Jeetendra was determined to marry his childhood love Shobha.
The duo is said to have met on Marine Drive when the actor was just 14 years old! Though their journey to tie the knot was not an easy one, but with their strong determination and true love, they finally ended up marrying each other on October 31, 1974.
12- Suniel Shetty-Mana Shetty
Suniel Shetty met Mana at a pastry shop. They kept bumping into each other and one fine day they got talking.
Meanwhile, Suniel got friendly with Mana’s sister to know her better. The couple dated for nine years and today are married for more than 20 years.
13- Ayushmann Khurana-Tahira
Bollywood’s new superstar Ayushmann Khurrana married his childhood friend Tahira Kashyap. Tahira is a filmmaker and began dating Ayushmann in college, post which, they married in 2008.
Post their marriage, in 2012 Ayushmann made his Bollywood debut with ‘Vicky Donor’ which proved to be blockbuster. The couple is considered to be a fairytale couple who despite facing ups and downs in life, never gave up on each other.

13- Hrithik Roshan-Sussanne Khan
