Actors who promote and prefer Hindi language


India is a land of diverse languages and religions. And to preserve traditional local language and heritage, it is important to communicate in the regional language. It is truly said, “You may learn many languages but never forget your native language”. While most of the Indians can speak Hindi, some others struggle to communicate in our national language. When Hindi is a tough job for some, it is obvious that English would be a challenge for many. However, if we talk about Bollywood stars, then they are not recognized only within a country but globally as well. For them, it’s kind of important to be fluent in speaking languages like Hindi and English. Speaking fluent English is the first impressive act of any star. Right?? Well, some Bollywood stars chose to speak in Hindi or the regional language rather than any other language. Let’s have a look at such stars:

Namrata Shirodkar

Namrata Shirodkar is a Maharashtrian. That is why she is not very fluent in English but somehow can manage the language. She like all other celebrities speaks in her mother tongue and can also speak in Hindi as well.

Rakhi Sawant

Rakhi Sawant is an Indian dancer, model, Hindi film and television actress and television talk show host, who has appeared in many Hindi and a few Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Telugu and Tamil films. She was a contestant on the first season of the controversial Indian reality television series Bigg Boss 1 in 2006. The actress is well known for throwing tantrums and is constantly seen making headlines. But apart from this, the actress chooses to speak in the local language that is, Hindi rather than any other language. 

Kangana Ranaut

The magnificent actress of Bollywood, Kangana Ranaut once admitted that “People in the industry treated me like I didn’t deserve to be spoken to and I was some unwanted object. I couldn’t speak English fluently and people made fun of me for that. So dealing with rejection became a part of life.”

Akshay Kumar

Yes, the Khiladi of Bollywood Akshay Kumar recently announced that he feels more comfortable to talk in the national language- Hindi as he is proud to be a desi.

Karisma Kapoor

She is considered as one of the most popular and highest-paid Hindi film actresses in the 1990s and early 2000s. She made her debut in the industry with the film Prem Qaidi. Though the film was moderately successful, nobody had any idea that Karisma would one day rule the industry. Karisma made a distinct identity in Bollywood on the strength of her acting. But, it is quite surprising to know that the actress is also amongst the ones who prefer to speak in Hindi rather than English.


Well, its truly said that if you have the talent, skills and positive attitude you could certainly reach heights no matter what. Similar was the case was South Superstar Rajnikanth who is said to be not so fluent in English. However, it never became a barrier to his career success. He has earned success by answering in Hindi and his mother tongue. Though he is not very educated, his talent leads him to the top of the Tollywood industry today!!

Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Siddiqui, who is also known as Bollywood’s Inspirational actor, came forward with fighting poverty and today has emerged as one of the best and most popular actors of Bollywood. His films are a true blockbuster because of his strong acting skills. The talented actor prefers to speak in Hindi, especially when confronting the media.


Govinda, is an Indian film actor, comedian, dancer, and former politician known for his work in Hindi films. The actor tries to speak English where it is necessary but talks in Hindi because he feels comfortable and connected to the language. 

Amitabh Bachchan

The Shahenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan is an exceptional speaker who can fluently speak both Hindi and English. However, he chooses to speak in the Hindi language and is very good at the same. You must have heard him speaking in pure Hindi many times in his show KBC. Apart from being a great actor, he is also a writer, singer, and speaker.

Manoj Bajpayee

Manoj is said to have been a theater artist. In such a scenario, the actor is well versed with the language Hindi and loves to communicate in the same. It is said that the actor believes apart from his hard work, his Hindi is an important reason behind the distinct identity he has made in Bollywood.

Pankaj Tripathi

Pankaj Tripathi is an excellent speaker and prefers to share his experiences in the Hindi language only. He has worked in more than 40 films and 60 television shows and has received critical appraisal for multiple films including Fukrey and Masaan.

Kapil Sharma

Well, we guess we do not have to elaborate on this one!! You must have noticed the fact on The Kapil Sharma Show where he makes the use of Hindi language for communication from every guest rather than communicating in other indigenous languages.


Venkatesh Prabhu, better known by his stage name Dhanush, is a film actor, producer, director, writer, lyricist, screenwriter and playback singer who predominantly works in Tamil cinemaKolaveri boyDhanush is one of the shining stars in Bollywood and prefers to speak in Tamil rather than any other language.


The legend of Bollywood, who is known for his classic acting also prefers to speak in Hindi or Punjabi.

Kailash Kher 

Bollywood Singer Performer Kailash is among the celebrities who are not at ease with the language of English. He sings and speaks in his mother tongue Hindi. He sang a song in the recent movie Bahubali, which was a huge hit on the box office.

Hema Malini

Hema Malini is a South Indian who married a Punjabi guy Dharmendra. Just like her husband, Hema is not fluent in English. She even took Hindi classes before entering Bollywood!!
