Ranveer Singh

The young actor who started off as a typical dilli ka munda, soon made it to the list of superstars with his intense acting in super hit movies like Bajirao Mastani, Padmavat, and Ramleela. However the first job of this energy bomb was a copywriter in Ogilvy and Mather advertising agency. Later he worked as a assistant director and left the job to pursue acting.

Akshay Kumar

One of the most celebrated actors in Bollywood who was honoured with the National Award, Akshay Kumar is the son of a military officer. While he still continues to sweep us off our feet with his martial art moves, the actor once worked as waiter in Bangkok. When he moved back to India, he started martial arts classes and one of his students recommended him for a modelling assignment. Well, the rest is history!

Arshad Warsi

Take his name and our stomach starts to ache. Once a door to door cosmetic salesman, the actor joined Sami’s dance group in Mumbai and started off as a choreographer for the title song of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993). Arshad then made his debut with Amitabh Bachchan starer Tere Mere Sapne in 1996. Amongst his most celebrated roles, we still can’t get over the charisma of Circuit from Munna Bhai MBBS.

Boman Irani

Today a legend, actor Boman Irani worked as a boxing photographer before joining Bollywood. He studied at Mithibai College in Mumbai and eventually joined The Taj Mahal Palace and Tower and worked there as a waiter and in room service. After being trained as a theatre actor, Irani moved to films in 2000 and gained fame with a series of comic roles he played in various films.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui

The man who looks like one of us now stands miraculously apart in the crowd. After giving a plethora of blockbuster movies, Nawaz recently stared in Netflix original series which signifies nothing but only success. Turns out that he was the first graduate from his village in Uttar Pradesh who also once worked as a watchman and later he came to Delhi to learn acting in National School of Drama. After facing a few rejections, the man finally bagged his share of roles and nailed them like a pro!

Amitabh Bachchan

The Bollywood alpha, Bachchan is the equivalent to God for his fans. Well, he started as an executive in a shipping company Shaw Wallace, then moved to work as a freight broker and also made an attempt at All India Radio only to get rejected. Honoured with a Padma Shri award, Amitabh started his film career in 1969. Though he was seen as a failed newcomer who rose to fame with movies like Zanjeer, Deewar, and Sholay, today, he rules the film fraternity.

Sonakshi Sinha

Despite being a star daughter, Sonakshi wasn’t just gifted her career on platter. Having started off as a costume designer in 2005, also walked the ramp at Lakme Fashion Week. Later, she made her Bollywood debut alongside Salman Khan in 2010 and there’s been no looking back since then.

Taapsee Pannu

Basically a software engineer who turned a full-time model, Taapsee auditioned for Channel V’s talent show Get Gorgeous and eventually landed in Bollywood. Today, she is a versatile actress, known for her amazing set of work in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi movies.
