1. Hrithik Roshan was offered the role of Baahubali

Prabhas gave his 100 percent effort to make the title character lovable on the screen. There’s no denying that Prabhas did fair to the character.

But, the role of Baahubali was offered to Hrithik Roshan before it was offered to Prabhas.

SS Rajamouli was planning to make ‘Baahubali’ a full-fledged Bollywood movie until Hrithik turned down the offer. It is said that Hrithik was doing Mohenjo Daro at that time and due to date clashes, Hrithik left the Baahubali project.

2. John Abraham was offered the role of Bhallaldev

The first choice of S. S. Rajamouli to play the antagonist Bhallaldev was John Abraham. Since Rajamouli was determined to make a Bollywood movie, the script was sent to John Abraham. John gave no response to the makers for the role.

Rana Daggupati did justice to the character of Bhallaldev. John and Rana both have similar bulky physique, and both the actor doesn’t shy to do negative or character roles in movies. John also played a negative character in Dhoom and Race 2.

3. Vivek Oberoi was offered the role of Bhallaldev

When filmmakers didn’t get any response from John Abraham, they tried to convince Vivek Oberoi for the role of Bhallaldev.

Vivek Oberoi had shown his acting potential in many movies. He also did a negative character in Hrithik Roshan starrer Krrish 3.

Vivek turned down the role due to some work commitment. Then the role was offered to Rana Daggupati, and he nailed the character.

Rana is powerful, mean, greedy, and lovable at the same time. The character of Bhallaldev is an asset to the film.

4. Sridevi was offered the role of Rajmaata Sivagami

It was the all-known fact that the role of Rajmaata Sivagami Devi was offered to Sridevi first. She was not impressed by the script and turned down the role.Then the iconic role of Rajmaata Sivagami went to Ramya Krishnan.

She was loud with her character, and after her performance, everybody doubted how Sridevi can carry the charm and power of the character of Rajmaata Sivagami Devi.

5. Sonam Kapoor was offered the role of Avantika

The small but impressive character of Avantika played by Tamanna in the Baahubali series was first offered to Sonam Kapoor. In an interview, Sonam revealed the fact that she was offered the role of Avantika in the movie.

She loved the script, but due to some unknown reasons, she turned down the role which was later offered to Tammana.

These roles were offered to famous faces of Bollywood only because makers of Baahubali was pretty sure that they were going to make a Bollywood movie.

6. Nayantara was offered the role of Devasena

Nayantara has a huge fan following in the Tollywood. Of course, Nayantara would be the first choice of the makers for the role of Devasena. Nayantara was quite busy with her other movie projects, so she turned down the offer.

The role of Devasena was then offered to another fan-favorite of South Industry, Anushka Shetty. Now, it is impossible to differentiate the character of Devasena with the charm of actress Anushka Shetty.

7. Mohanlal was offered the role of Katappa

Mohanlal is one of the most respected celebrities in the south Industry. He was offered the iconic role of Katappa in the Baahubali series.

The role was then offered to Sathyaraj, and the character of Katappa became fan-favorite.

It looks like the whole cast of the movie was replaced and filmmakers failed to cast their first choice in the movie.

However, Rajamouli said that these actors worked very hard and prepared for the role. This is the reason that the movie made a huge business and become the highest-grossing movie in India.
