She was responsible for finding a suitable actress as the lead for the film, Dum Laga Ke Haisha. For this, she auditioned as many as 100 girls but none of them was selected.
While briefing the actors about how to enact, she started enacting the role herself making the makers ponder upon the performance of Bhumi, and surprisingly, her performance was loved by the casting people and she was chosen as the lead for the film.
She played the role of Sandhya in the film which certainly couldn’t have been played any better by any other actress!!!

Getting into the details about her family, the actress’s mother Sumitra is a Haryanvi and worked as an anti-tobacco activist post the death of her father due to Oral cancer.
Her father, Satish was a Marathi and the former labour and home minister of Maharashtra.
